We spent our Thanksgiving break in Sin City, teaching the kids how to count cards, stay up late and see fancy shows. Just kidding!! When I told people we were going to Las Vegas for the holiday, I received a few quizzical looks before I explained that we have family that live out there. Seriously though, Las Vegas is fun for families and I have the perfect hotel for visiting the Strip with kids in tow: The Four Seasons. Other than great service, there are two main reasons I would choose this hotel over any other when visiting Vegas with my family:
Large, spacious beautiful rooms at a reasonable price: Four Seasons is luxury, and in any other city our room would have easily been twice the price. But during the holiday break, we had a competitively-priced larger room at this 5 star. It was nice to have the extra space with all four of us in one room for 4 nights. We also received breakfast for two daily and a spa credit (a Virtuoso Travel amenity via my favorite advisor Ann Gerakitis : ).
Feel and service of a boutique hotel with the amenities of a large, luxury Las Vegas resort: This is the most important reason to me (I’ve mentioned before that I prefer a smaller hotel). We never had to wait in-line anywhere at the Four Seasons–not at check-in, not at the concierge desk, not at the car valet, not anywhere. And I was helped almost immediately every time. This may not seem like a big deal, but walking through several sprawling casinos, I noticed the long lines at the check-in desks and at the concierge desks. I also noticed people dragging their suitcases through what seemed like miles of real estate. Alternatively, when we wanted to visit the casino, go shopping or just be part of the Vegas scene, we simply rode the elevator down to the Mandalay Bay Resort (Four Seasons occupies 4 floors of the large building).
If you need more reasons to stay at the Four Seasons, there are many more due to it’s convenient location on the Strip:
*Less than 10 minute ride from/to McCarren International Airport
*Located at one end of the Strip, it’s easy to avoid heavy traffic and large crowds either by taking side roads or riding the free tram
*Sundance Helicopter Tours is just across the street for incredible excursions
And if you don’t want to leave the property…
*Michael Jackson’s One, a Cirque du Soleil show, is in the Mandalay
*The Spa: Truly elegant and relaxing (I visited another well-known spa on the Strip and I felt like a car on a conveyer belt)
*Amazing brunch buffet (The food is excellent at all of the venues in the hotel, including room service).
*Lovely pool that is family friendly (The other pools at the Mandalay may not be family-appropriate at times).
*Mandalay Bay has several well-known restaurants such as Lupo (Wolfgang Puck’s) and Aureole (Charlie Palmer’s place famous for wine-angels!)
All in all, Four Seasons Las Vegas was the perfect hub for all of our fun adventures while in Las Vegas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
Hope all of your holiday travels are wonderful…
